Homai reaches UN Global Summit finals after winning Colibrix Tech’s AI Innovation Factory Bootcamp

Homai, winner of Colibrix Tech‘s AI for Good Innovation Factory Malta program, gained global recognition at the AI for Good Global Summit in Geneva. The company’s global debut on July 10 has opened new market opportunities across multiple continents.

The selection process began with 35 applications, which Colibrix Tech narrowed to four participants for its bootcamp program, developed alongside the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and the Republic of Malta. Homai’s victory earned them a spot on the Geneva stage to present their cultural preservation technology.

Building global network for expansion

The Geneva summit opened unexpected doors for Homai. The team built relationships spanning from Colombian organizations to Catalonian groups, connected with African partners in Tanzania and Algeria, and explored Portuguese markets.

“The summit was about plugging into a global movement for cultural survival,” said Aigiz Kunafin, Homai’s Founder.

The startup’s mission is straightforward: stop languages from disappearing by giving communities the tools to create their own smart speakers. They’ve proven it works: starting with Bashkir, then expanding to Mari, showing other endangered language communities can follow the same path.

Supporting Malta’s AI innovation initiative

The AI for Good Innovation Factory Malta strengthens the country’s push toward its 2030 AI leadership goals. The bootcamp provided selected startups with mentorship from industry experts, essential development tools, and networking opportunities with European investors. By connecting local innovation with global platforms through the United Nations, the program creates a sustainable framework for technology development that tackles real-world challenges.

“Supporting the Malta Innovation Factory was about unlocking local potential for global impact,” said Joseph Camilleri, Board Member at Colibrix Tech. “We wanted to build a launchpad for ideas that actually make a difference. Homai really captured the spirit of ‘AI for Good’—it’s one of those rare cases where technology meets cultural preservation with elegance and impact.”

Though Homai did not advance to the final six competitors in Geneva, the company’s participation brought minority language preservation technology to global attention through the UN platform.

Homai’s approach addresses minority language extinction by giving communities user-friendly tools to digitize their linguistic heritage. Starting with the Bashkir language, the startup has expanded to serve the Mari language community, proving the technology’s scalability for worldwide application.

Building long-term value

The initiative reinforces Malta’s position as an emerging center for responsible AI innovation. Participants gained access to specialized AI training, project management tools, and direct pathways to international markets, creating lasting value beyond the competition itself.
